Jamie primarily practices in the areas of civil litigation, and municipal and land-use planning law.
Jamie regularly helps individual, corporate, and public sector clients resolve a range of contentious disputes via negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation. While Jamie’s litigation practice is broad, he has specific experience with:
i. Real property disputes: Ontario Land Tribunal proceedings, municipal and condominium-related Superior Court applications, and property boundary/right of access disputes;
ii. Access to information disputes: Information and Privacy Commissioner appeals, and Condominium Authority Tribunal applications;
iii. Review of administrative action and arbitral awards: Divisional Court and Federal Court judicial review and statutory appeal litigation, and Superior Court arbitral review applications;
iv. General commercial disputes: Superior Court and Small Claims Court litigation.
Jamie completed his articles with SV Law, and worked as an associate with the firm after his Call to the Bar. After working with a small litigation firm focussed on Indigenous legal issues and Aboriginal law, Jamie returned to SV Law in 2023.
Jamie obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo, and his law degree from the University of Ottawa.
Outside of the office, Jamie is an outdoors enthusiast. In the summer, Jamie enjoys visiting family on the Bruce Peninsula, and exploring northern Ontario by foot and canoe. In the winter, he enjoys downhill skiing. Jamie is also an avid (and often crestfallen) Toronto Blue Jays fan.
