Kevin M. Thompson, B.Sc. (Hons.), J.D.

Kevin practices in the areas of municipal, planning and real estate law, as well as condominium litigation and development. He has experience representing clients in Ontario Municipal Board and Environmental Review Tribunal proceedings and regularly assists clients with OMB appeals relating to official plans, zoning by-laws, plans of subdivision and severances, site plans, and minor variances. He also works with property managers, condominium boards, developers and unit owners to resolve a variety of issues facing condominiums.

Kevin has an Honours Degree in Environmental Science from Queen’s University and earned his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. While at law school, he participated in the Intensive Program in Aboriginal Lands, Resources & Governments, which included a co-op placement with the United Nations Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity in Montreal. He also served as co-chair of the Osgoode Environmental Law Society. These experiences give him a unique perspective on the intersection of public and private interests at play within Ontario’s land use planning regime.

Prior to being called to the Bar in Ontario in 2014, Kevin articled and summered at SV Law, completing an extensive rotation in Municipal Law. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys playing hockey and golf.
