About the Opportunity:

As the successful candidate you will have a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent and 2 – 3 years experience in a litigation role.  This experience should include the drafting of litigation documents (including applications, claims, defence, affidavits, affidavits of documents, and orders from endorsements, etc.), use of effective communication skills with clients, opposing counsel and the Court, scheduling within lawyer’s calendars, liaison with clients and opposing counsel, and performing various other clerk and assistant related tasks.

Estates Law Clerk

About the Opportunity:

As the successful candidate you will have a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.  This experience should include preparing and managing all types of estate files, including probate applications, asset distribution, providing general administration of estate files, serving, and filing documents with the Court, and preparing general correspondence and routine documents.

Your primary responsibilities will include, being the first point of contact for clients, calendar management, digital and physical file maintenance, composing correspondence, drafting of Wills and Powers of Attorney, assisting with execution of Wills and Powers, invoicing and reporting, assisting with intake for estates, data entry in Estate A Base, and providing general administration support within the Will and Estate Practice Group. You will also provide general administrative support within the office as needed.

About the Opportunity:

The successful candidate would have approximately 5 years experience as a residential or commercial real estate clerk and have a keen eye for attention to detail. The selected candidate would be provided with in house training and mentorship to grow and develop into a Title Search Clerk that would have the ability to complete a full search of title; submit requisitions and provide suggested response to requisitions; submit inquiries to OnLand; the ability to identify title defects and prepare Applications to assist in correcting those defects, and to prepare and register any additional documentation that may be necessary, including Transfers of Easements, Release of Easements, Construction Liens, Court Orders, etc. Experience with MS Office, Teraview, Teranet Connect and Conveyancer are a must and knowledge of PC Law and Worldox will be considered an asset.

Your primary responsibility will be to handle all aspects of builder new home real estate transactions, subdivision lot sales and subdivision development, which includes preparing legal documents for purchase and sale and land development, and mortgage transactions, drafting agreements, ordering title insurance policies, communicating effectively with lawyers, clients, banks, and mortgage brokers, and dealing with post closing matters. Experience with MS Office, Teraview and Conveyancer are a must and knowledge of PC Law, Worldox, and DocuSign will be considered an asset.

Condominium Liens Law Clerk/Assistant

About the Opportunity:

As the successful candidate you will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a lien or real estate clerk role. A Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma would be considered an asset. Your primary responsibility will be to handle all aspects of a Condominium lien file. Your role will include preparing and issuing Notice of Liens, registering Condominium Liens, preparing and issuing any Notice of Sale Under Lien required, registering Discharge of Liens, addressing calls from debtors, lenders/mortgagees and solicitors and reporting. The use of Firm created lien software LeinRight, will be required. Microsoft Word, Outlook and Teraview will be used on a daily basis to complete tasks. Knowledge of the Condominium Act, experience with the lien process and/or experience with preparing and registering various documentation within Teraview are considered an asset. Experience with Conveyancer will provide a strong foundation for use of LienRight. Full in-house training will be provided.
