Wills & Estates Clerk

The Wills & Estates Practice Group is growing at SV Law and we have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full time, Wills & Estates Clerk in our Centre Wellington (Elora) location. About the Opportunity:

As the successful candidate you will have a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role. Your primary responsibilities will be to draft Wills and Powers of Attorney, complete intake for estates, data entry in Estate A Base, and provide assistance with the general administration of estate files, including the preparation of routine documents, assisting with probate applications and filing documents with the Court. You will also provide general administrative support as needed.

You possess excellent organizational skills, with high attention to detail, and must have the ability to multitask, all of which will assist you in working in this fast-paced team environment. Experience with MS Office is a must and knowledge in the applications of Emergent, Estate A Base, Adobe Pro and PC Law are considered an asset.

Estates Law Clerk

The Estates practice is growing at SV Law and we are currently looking for two Estates Law Clerks to join our dynamic team, which currently consists of four Estates Clerks, as well as one Intake/Reporting Clerk. About the Opportunity:

As the successful candidate you will have a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. This experience should include preparing and managing all types of estate files, including probate applications, asset distribution, providing general administration of estate files, serving, and filing documents with the Court, and preparing general correspondence and routine documents.

Condominium Liens Law Clerk/Assistant

About the Opportunity:

As the successful candidate you will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a lien or real estate clerk role. A Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma would be considered an asset. Your primary responsibility will be to handle all aspects of a Condominium lien file. Your role will include preparing and issuing Notice of Liens, registering Condominium Liens, preparing and issuing any Notice of Sale Under Lien required, registering Discharge of Liens, addressing calls from debtors, lenders/mortgagees and solicitors and reporting. The use of Firm created lien software LeinRight, will be required. Microsoft Word, Outlook and Teraview will be used on a daily basis to complete tasks. Knowledge of the Condominium Act, experience with the lien process and/or experience with preparing and registering various documentation within Teraview are considered an asset. Experience with Conveyancer will provide a strong foundation for use of LienRight. Full in-house training will be provided.

You must possess strong communication skills and effectively communicate with our team of lawyers and clerks/assistants, clients and other party(ies) with an interest in the subject units. Experience with PC Law and Worldox will also be considered an asset.
