Family Law Clerk

About the Opportunity:

As the successful candidate you will have a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 – 3 years experience in a similar role.  This experience should include drafting written correspondence and documents, such as applications, affidavits, separation agreements, parenting plans, etc., preparing Court Orders from Endorsements, financial statements and net family property statements. You must also be skilled at scheduling a busy lawyer’s calendar, being a liaison with clients and opposing Counsel, and performing all other administrative tasks associated with a lawyer’s practice.

You are a team player who thrives in an environment that offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of individuals both independently and as part of a team.   You possess excellent organizational skills, with high attention to detail, and must have the ability to multitask, all of which will assist you in working in this fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also a must for dealing effectively with clients, other lawyers and professionals in the interests of our clients. You possess solid knowledge of Family Law Rules and the Rules of Civil Procedure including filing deadlines. Experience with MS Office is a must and knowledge in the applications of PC Law and DivorceMate are also required.

Junior Law Clerk – Civil Litigation

As the successful candidate you will have a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent and 1 – 2 years experience although recent grads will be considered.  You will receive mentorship and direction from a Senior Clerk/Paralegal and you will primarily be preparing and handling documentation utilizing your technology skills.

Solid knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, legal documentation and terminology. Experience with MS Office is a must and knowledge in the applications of PC Law, ACL, Primafact and Worldox are considered an asset.

Condominium Law Clerk/Assistant

About the Opportunity:

As the successful candidate you will have a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.  The experience must include real estate and condominium, issuing of liens would also be considered an asset, preparing and registration of various documentation using Teraview and Conveyancer, general administration of files, communication both written and verbal in a professional manner.

You are a team player who thrives in an environment that offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of individuals both independently and as part of a team.  You will have excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to multitask, all of which will assist you in working in this fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an asset for dealing effectively with clients and other lawyers and professionals in the interests of our clients. Strong knowledge of real estate and related legislation including the Condominium Act is required. Must have experience with Teraview, Conveyancer and MS Office, knowledge in the application of PC Law is also considered an asset.
