Meghan Praught is a lawyer in SV Law’s Civil Litigation and Condominium Litigation practice groups. Called to the Ontario Bar in 2025, Meghan first joined SV Law as a summer student in 2023 and returned to complete her articles in 2024–2025. She is excited to continue her career with the firm and to serve the Guelph community she calls home.
Meghan earned her J.D. from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law in 2024. During law school, she held leadership roles as Vice President of Finance and President of the Social Committee for the Dalhousie Law Students’ Society, and she was actively involved with the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service, supporting students facing academic and policy-related issues. In her final year, Meghan worked at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic, where she gained hands-on litigation experience and made submissions before the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia. Notably, she co-represented a tenant in Bluenose Inn and Suites v. McGuire, helping secure one of the largest Landlord and Tenant Board payouts in Nova Scotia.
Before law school, Meghan completed her Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Justice Studies at the University of Guelph-Humber while concurrently earning her Diploma in Community and Justice Services from Humber College. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for advocacy and the law.
Meghan now focuses her practice on representing condominium corporations and individuals in a wide range of civil and condominium disputes. She is committed to clear communication, practical solutions, and helping clients navigate the legal system with confidence.
Outside of the office, Meghan enjoys writing and performing music, cooking, and spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Scout.
